Angelo was appointed as Chief Quality Officer as of the 1 April 2019 and is a member of the Biovac Executive team. |
His mandate is:
• To provide the best practical leadership to Quality Management Unit within Biovac, which includes Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, Validation and Technical Training.
• To drive an accountable and effective quality culture across all Biovac employees through a sound Quality Management System.
• Together with the Responsible Pharmacist, ensure that products being released into the market is efficacious and prescribes to the necessary safety and quality standards.
Angelo holds a National Diploma in Microbiology from the Witwatersrand Technikon.
In April 2012, he was appointed by Biovac, specifically for his sound knowledge and extensive experience in cGMP and Quality Leadership.
His career within the pharmaceutical industry spans over 36 years, during which he has worked in established commercial manufacturing organizations such as Aspen’s Oral Solid Dosage Manufacturing Plant and Lacsa, an API manufacturer, where he gained experience predominantly in Quality Assurance, Validation and Quality Control.
Angelo’s experience in infrastructure projects such as the building, commissioning and qualification of manufacturing facilities, together with his cGMP and Quality Compliance orientation, stands him in good stead as part of the Biovac team.
